I began photographing in my late teens. From the beginning, I was drawn to the natural world with its beauty and timelessness. It was a place in which I felt at home. There were gifted moments when what I saw hinted at energies and forms seeming to come from behind the surface. In a state of receptivity, I quietly explore this realm and hope I can be present when they invite me in.

Working with the camera on a tripod allows me to slow down and be receptive to the invitation. I don’t look to nature for making a good photograph, rather I am drawn to a specific place and moment when Great Nature reveals itself. The image is not just a record of what I see. If successful, it becomes the source of a new insight and emotional experience.
